You don’t have to be a certain religion to practice meditation, or even a particular kind of person, meditation is simply a form of training for the mind. It helps us to develop awareness so we can make better choices.
Feeling calm and relaxed is what we like to call a side effect of meditation. Many people say to us, I cant meditate because I cant empty my mind, meditation isn’t about emptying the mind, its not about switching off as such but rather switching on. becoming aware, being present! Its normal for thoughts to come and to go, the practice is acknowledging those thoughts and then letting them pass.
